Aztec Parrot is a poet, radio producer, and DJ. As a former radio host of Radio 2050 at Pacifica's KPFA in Berkeley, CA, his show delved into the Xicanx Art Scene by profiling and interviewing over 300 artists working in collaboration with community. He is one of the most listened to voices about Contemporary Latinx art in the West Coast, and one of the most knowledgeable amature ethnomusicologist of contemporary traditional and dance music.
In 1996, he co-founded Los Delicados, the leaders of Latinx Spoken word in san Francisco, CA. Currently, he is working with Project 1521, a collective of Poets, Writers, and Artists addressing the 500 of the fall of Tenochtitlan and the arrival of Cortes with lead artist Sandy Rodriguez.
